Doubling Down On Our Commitment to Making Events More Successful

Updated: Oct 4, 2020

One Love Manchester concert. June 4, 2017.

It’s no secret I’m passionate about bringing people together. From the club house I ran when I was a boy to the association I led before starting Social Tables, I was always infatuated with connecting people.

This passion is what sparked the creation of Social Tables where our vision is a world where every face-to-face event achieves great things (read: be successful).

This passion is the reason I have the utmost respect for event planners. They devote their lives to facilitating human connections with every event they execute.

Take the recent concert in England, One Love Manchester, as an example. It brought people together around a powerful message of love and hope after a tragic terrorist attack. Event planners pulled that off. I believe that event planners and their products (yes, events are their products) run the world, and can make it better.

So as someone who is infatuated with events, I’m never satisfied because I think there’s always more we can do to make them better.

This is why I’m excited to share some very special news with you. It’s something that we’ve been planning for a very long time. Something that is very much related to our shared passion for bringing people together.

We’ve released a free version of Diagram, our award-winning diagramming product, for anyone planning an event.

Additionally, we’ve released a free version of Check-In, our guest check-in software. And finally, and perhaps most importantly, we’ve democratized our venue database. This means that any Social Tables user now has unfettered access to Destination, our event space search engine, which lists more than 10,000 venues.

Why did we do this? It’s simple. Collaborative event planning makes events better. And Social Tables makes it easy for planners and their stakeholders to collaborate with one another. We’ve done it over 2 million times (the number of events planned in our software).

Whether you’re a professional planner who needs a powerful yet simple tool to design your event, a parent volunteering at the registration table of your child’s school fundraiser, or a leader who needs to find a great location for your team building activity, we want to help. We want to give you the tools that can take your event from memorable to unforgettable.

We are planning a large marketing effort toward the end of the summer but I couldn’t wait so I decided to share this with you through my personal blog.

If you want to get started, you can check it all out right here.

It is my hope that with Social Tables products available to more planners, events will not only be more successful but the people who plan them will become more strategic as they spend less time doing administrative work.
